Nightfarer Tier List (All 10 Classes Ranked)

◷ 8 min read ◆ Published

Nightreign gives every run three days, and your Nightfarer decides how much of that time converts into damage, levels, and loot. With The Forsaken Hollows adding Scholar and Undertaker, the roster now stands at ten. The spread between the top of this list and the bottom is real but not fatal — every class has cleared every Nightlord — so the ranking below weighs how much a class does for an average trio, not its ceiling in a highlight reel.

✦ Scout's short answer

If you're picking blind, take Ironeye — the safest damage in the game and the best teacher of Limveld's pacing. If your lobby already has an archer, Wylder is never wrong. In a trio, Raider is the anchor: hyperarmor and colossal damage that no amount of teammate chaos switches off.

How we rank

Three axes, in order of weight:

  • Self-sufficiency — can the class route, level, and survive without a coordinated trio? Random-queue value lives here.
  • Boss contribution — damage, stagger, or utility that shortens the day-two and day-three fights, where runs end.
  • Setup tax — how much a class asks of teammates before its kit pays out. A high tax is fine in a premade and a liability with randoms.

S-tier — the default picks

Wylder is the roster's benchmark: solid greatsword damage, a grapple that closes gaps or yanks him out of trouble, and a cheat-death passive that converts one fatal mistake per rest into a lesson instead of a wipe. Nothing about him is situational, which is exactly why he tops a list built around average trios.

Ironeye turns distance into safety without paying for it in damage. His mark carves a weak point the whole trio profits from, and his stagger shot interrupts boss phases that other classes must tank through. There is no better archer in the game, and arguably no better first pick.

Raider is the trio S the aggregate lists undersell. Hyperarmor plus colossal damage means his contribution never depends on what his teammates do — he hits the boss through everything, and his totem hands ranged allies a platform and a buff on top. Solo he drops to A only because his recovery windows punish unforced errors nobody else is there to cover.

A-tier — strong with a plan

Executor has the highest skill ceiling in the game. His cursed-sword counter turns boss aggression into free damage, and his beast ultimate is a panic button that doubles as a burst phase. In practiced hands he outperforms half the S-tier; in new hands he spends day one on the floor.

Undertaker, one of the two Forsaken Hollows additions, hits as hard as her official billing promises — strength scaling up front, faith utility behind it. She rewards a trio that funnels her openings, and her placement here is early: the meta is still digesting her.

Scholar, the other DLC Nightfarer, is the premade specialist. His arcane toolkit amplifies a coordinated trio — paired with Recluse he turns her residue harvesting into a burst engine — but with randoms, half his kit goes unused. Queue him with friends or not at all.

Recluse owns the highest damage ceiling among the casters, fueled by harvesting elemental residue mid-fight. The tax is real: she needs teammates applying elements and space to work. Premade S, random-queue B, so she lands here on average.

Revenant is the best support in the game since her post-launch buffs — her summons hold aggro that solo classes can't buy, and her ultimate un-kills a botched boss attempt. She contributes little direct damage, which caps her with randoms who don't play around her.

Duchess reads better on paper than she plays. Restage replaying your trio's burst is a real amplifier, but the payoff arrives only when teammates stack a burst window for her to double — and her thin health bar makes every mistake expensive. In a coordinated trio she earns the A; solo, with less damage to replay and no one covering her, she's a B.

B-tier — pick with intent

Guardian does one thing excellently: keep a trio alive. The dive-and-shelter ultimate rescues downed teammates through attacks nothing else survives. But Nightreign's clock rewards killing faster more than dying slower, and Guardian's damage lags the roster. Take him into a premade that plans around the saves; skip him solo, where the class protects no one.

Picks by how you queue

  • Solo: Ironeye first, Wylder second. Both survive mistakes; nothing else on the roster forgives them as cheaply.
  • Random trios: Raider, Ironeye, or Executor — classes whose full value arrives without a word of coordination.
  • Premade trios: Wylder–Ironeye–Raider is the forgiving default. If your group coordinates burst windows, Recluse and Scholar reward the setup, with Duchess as the third once the trio's timing is tight.
