Pokémon TCG Pocket (PTCGP) is a mobile-first pocket-format TCG: 20-card decks, faster games than paper, and a rarity system up to 2-Shiny. Current expansion is Everyday Wonders (B3b); Ruler of the Skies (B4) drops July 30, 2026.
Reroll for a Mega Rising or Everyday Wonders pack that gives you a meta 2-Star card. Save your first Shinedust for a copy of Rare Candy — every good deck runs it. Skip Wonder Picks for cards you'd rather trade for.
Reroll priority
- Roll for a 2-Star from Everyday Wonders (B3b) — Mega Charizard Y ex if possible.
- Alternatively, roll for a 2-Star Palkia ex or Gardevoir ex from earlier sets — both anchor meta decks.
- Skip rerolling if you already have any 2-Star ex Pokémon; move on to deck-building.
Daily routine
Every day gives you:
- 2 free packs from Pack Hourglasses (one per 12-hour period).
- Wonder Picks on shared card pools; usually 1–2 free daily.
- Missions that pay out Pack Hourglasses and Shinedust.
Prioritize opening packs from your target expansion. Don't split pulls across expansions — the collection rate is much better if you focus.
Shinedust economy
Shinedust is your crafting/trading currency. Every card you don't need converts to Shinedust. Meta trade costs:
- 1-Diamond: 35 dust
- 2-Diamond: 70 dust
- 3-Diamond: 150 dust
- 4-Diamond: 500 dust
- 1-Star: 400 dust
- 2-Star: 25,000 dust (or 10,000 for 1-Shiny)
Practical: crafting a meta deck from Shinedust takes weeks. Trading is faster if you have valuable trade fodder.
Trading
Trading opened in 2024 for 2-Star, 1-Shiny, and 2-Shiny cards from Genetic Apex through Wisdom of Sea and Sky. Everyday Wonders (B3b) is tradable now too. Two rules:
- Duplicates are trade fodder. Don't Shinedust them; someone will want them.
- Trade like for like. Cross-rarity trades are usually disallowed — you'll want a 1:1 rarity trade.
Ranked ladder basics
Ranked is your endgame mode. Season rewards include Shinedust and cosmetics. Play with any deck that clears the top 30% of the ladder — Rare Candy Gardevoir is the go-to budget pick.
