Monster Hunter Wilds Weapon Tier List (Title Update 4)

◷ 6 min read ◆ Published

Monster Hunter Wilds ships all 14 weapon types from the mainline series, and Title Update 4 shipped in December 2025. Weapon tiers reward Artian Weapon min-maxing and Zoh Shia clear times. This list scores both solo and party performance.

✦ Scout's short answer

For solo speedruns, pick Charge Blade or Insect Glaive. For beginners, pick Great Sword, the least mechanically demanding entry. For party utility, Hunting Horn is unmatched.

S-tier

Charge Blade is the mechanical ceiling. Savage Axe rotations shred any monster the phial timing forgives.

Insect Glaive flies. Aerial mount → Kinsect burst → mount again. Speedrun favourite.

Long Sword rewards counter-timing with Iai Spirit Slash, one of the highest damage-per-window skills in the game.

A-tier

Great Sword is the easiest to pick up. True Charged Slash timing is the whole game.

Hunting Horn plays party songs: Attack Up (L), Divine Blessing, Health Regen. Every party wants one.

Bow is the strongest ranged weapon. Element coats matter more than raw damage.

Artian Weapon strategy

Artian Weapons are Wilds's rollable-stat endgame system. Craft baseline parts, then reroll for the best passive. Priority passives:

  • Sharpness +5: universal.
  • Attack +5: universal.
  • Element +5: Dual Blades, Bow, Insect Glaive.

Zoh Shia weapon picks

Zoh Shia, the farmable High Rank Guardian fight opened up in Title Update 1, favours specific weapons. Best picks: Long Sword (counter Elder Dragon roars), Bow (element weakness cover), Hunting Horn (party sustain).
